Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream symposium at Friends Meeting House

October 20, 2012 from 2pm to 6pm
The Sierra Club, Beyond Coal campaign is hosting a free Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream symposium in Northampton on Saturday afternoon that I and two other volunteers are facilitating. It's a very inspiring and hopeful program that aims to leave people in action to make changes. It might be something that Northern Berkshire Transition would like to host in western Mass. sometime in the future. Here's more information…See More

Guidelines for types of events to post?

Hi,I'm a new member and had a question about the guidelines for which kinds of events are ok to post. There are two events coming up - one costs money and I didn't know if that was ok to post, but it's related to transitioning to a new future -- it's a Joanna Macy-inspired workshop at Starseed Healing Sanctuary in Savoy next Saturday, July 28. The second event is activism in another state but related to transitioning off fossil fuels. We're carpooling from Savoy to go up to Burlington, VT on…See More

Describe your interest in Northern Berkshire Transition
I live in central Massachusetts in northern Worcester County, but I often visit Starseed Healing Sanctuary in Savoy where I have friends. Their web site is www.starseedsanctuary.org. Starseed is an interfaith healing sanctuary, holistic retreat center, and a developing intentional community on 130 acres of fields, forests and wetlands. They offer retreats and weekend workshops and are also starting to plan for an intentional community and farm there. I'm signing up on this web site to learn more about what NBT is doing and to help make connections between NBT and Starseed. I can't help with volunteering at this point for NBT because I am busy in my own home area.

Also, my husband and I are trained Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream facilitators whose purpose is to "create an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on earth." You can find out more about that program here: http://www.pachamama.org/workshops/awakening-the-dreamer-symposium. We can put you in touch with facilitators in the area if you have a group or organization that would like to host the half-day program.
Are you:
Only have time to volunteer a few hours on specific projects
